Kanan (E-RYT 500) approaches Yoga as an art form. Through meaningful teachings and powerful practice, yoga creatively informs us that we can strengthen and refine the shape and quality of our body and mind. The brillance of yoga is the perfect function of energy designed to assist our true nature ~ to dwell in joy. Yoga can uplift and color our connection with each other and our sense of self, creating an oasis that radiates. Kanan's classes integrate the media of energy and calm position with attention to what is present in body constitution, breath, sound and meditation. Her Vinyasa classes are rhythmic and robust. For Kanan, yoga is an artful way to inspire and potentiate well being.

Kanan was born in India (origin of Yoga). After graduating with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University, Kanan worked as a licensed therapist in private and public sectors of maternal and child health. Her passion for teaching Yoga began 12+ years ago, practicing Vinyasa and Kundalini Yoga & Meditation. Her yoga practice inspired her two empowering homebirth experiences. Kanan received her 300 and 500 hour advanced yoga certifications in Hatha/Vinyasa, Kids and Prenatal at Lotus Yoga. She trained and maintains her study and practice under the guidance of notable teachers in NYC, NJ and CA.

Kanan has over 9 years experience as a Prenatal Yoga teacher (Khalsa Way) and Birth Doula (MotherLoveDoulas). She is featured in print & film media including “Orgasmic Birth” and “Postpartum Yoga with Gurmukh.” Kanan co-founded KIND Yoga Method™ - a skillful prenatal program offering labor & birth workshops, doula services, nutrition and lactation support. Kanan aligns with business brands that inspire and give back to causes, relevant to her yoga practice and close to her heart - well being of women and children worldwide (www.satyafoundation.org).

Kanan’s most inspired and colorful art forms are her two daughters, time spent with her family and good friends and in the kitchen creating powerhouse foods. She bows to her teachers and yoga students who keep the practice effective.
